Our targets
At CETIN, we are passionate about the technology that forms the backbone of our existence. We aim to accelerate the uptake of digital technology. We design, build and operate high-quality networks and provide innovative solutions with no compromise in security. CETIN Hungary is well positioned to enable a rapid and cost-effective transition to 5G networks. The deployment of high-speed connectivity, 4G and 5G technologies allow us to connect as many people as possible, even in areas that might have otherwise been difficult to reach. In the age of digitalization, no one should be left behind.

Enabling 5G coverage

Our aim is to make the 5G network we have built and operate available to the widest possible audience, as it is an important driver of digitalisation. In urban areas, we aim for our 5G network to deliver connectivity speed above 250Mbps.

Resilient and reliable network

We aim to further improve network reliability and quality of the critical infrastructures and always actively help authorities in case of natural disaster. We will further strengthen the protection of customer data and increase the resilience of our networks to cyberattack and cyberfraud including regular employee awareness trainings.

Progress highlights

Enabling 5G coverage

By the beginning of 2025, 5G connectivity was available to approximately 50% of the Hungarian population.

Resilient and reliable network

In 2022, we have implemented the first phase of the full-scope security information and event management system and started to continuously support awareness of all external contractors through cyber security training. In 2023, we have implemented an internal Security Operation Centre (SOC), including follow-up procedures for monitoring and responding to incidents. In 2024, we have placed a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and NIS2 (Network and Information Security Directive) readiness and compliance. NIS2 aims to enhance the security of network and information systems within the EU by requiring operators of critical infrastructure and essential services, and their critical suppliers to implement appropriate security measures and report any incidents.

Impact stories

Follow our steps towards sustainability and carbon neutrality
As Hungary’s first mobile telecommunications infrastructure provider, CETIN Hungary has a longstanding commitment to sustainable data transmission. Our sustainability strategy consists of four distinct, yet interconnected pillars. The technological pillar is the backbone of our existence, through which we design, build, and operate high-quality networks. We also offer innovative solutions in the field of security. Through the environmental pillar, we strive to minimize the impact of our business activities on the environment, going beyond legal and other requirements. Our social pillar focuses on people. In addition to our extensive well-being program and regular charitable and sponsorship activities, supporting young people is close to our hearts. The STEMpowered by CETIN free talent program aims to support young girls before they make career choices, helping them see technical and technology-related professions as real and attractive opportunities.
The SD-WAN networking strategy allows companies to replace outdated firewalls, routers, and WAN optimization appliances with a single appliance. This minimizes hardware requirements and power consumption. In addition, the entire strategy is sustainable and has a high-security profile. The project will be completed later this year.
CETIN Hungary has multi-operator radio access network sharing agreement in Hungary. That means that the mobile network built and operated by CETIN is being used to deliver communication services to the end customers of more than one commercial operator.
